RUINED FOREVAR!1

Remember my satire "EVERYTHING IS DESTROYING CREEPYPASTA!", where I used the very worst and most inane (real) arguments/talking points from creepypasta "elitists" I could find (from DA, Tumblr, and elsewhere) and exaggerated them for humorous effect?

Well, there's a reason I made it. The creepypasta/Marble Hornets Slenderman fandom...well...has a lot of closed-minded people. These people I'm talking about are the sort who think their headcanon/way of interpreting certain pasta monsters is the high holy gospel, and that everyone who thinks/acts even slightly differently than them is a pestilence upon the fandom. "MY version of Slenderman is the ONLY version of Slenderman and everyone ELSE'S version of Slenderman can go to hell!" "Jeff simply CANNOT be older than 13! You're a stupid fangirl if you think otherwise!" "My headcanon of The Rake is the CORRECT headcanon and everyone else's is stupid!" Etc.

And then there are those who jump ship and abandon the fandom altogether or start hating a character because they see something they don't like associated with it.

"OMG PEOPLE ARE DRAWING CREEPYPASTA CHARACTERS....NOT CREEPY?! NUUUUUUU! IT'S RUINED FOREEEEVAR!!!1"
"WTF, LAUGHING JACK RULE 34?! I'M LEAVING THIS FANDOM! YOU GUYS ARE MESSED UP!"
"OH NO, A PICTURE OF A DUDE KISSING ANOTHER DUDE! CREEPYPASTA IS SOILED FOR ALL TIME!"
"JEFF AS A PARASITE? I QUIT."



And it's not just the CP fandom, either. You have no idea how many people I've seen abandon a fandom or stop drawing art from it completely by falling into this type of "STOP LIKING WHAT I DON'T LIKE" thinking, crying "RUINED FOREVER!!!1" at the drop of a hat once they see something in it they even slightly disapprove of.

Well, here's a radical idea.
Wait for it.
Here it comes.
Hold on to your seats.
You could just....
IGNORE THE STUFF YOU DON'T LIKE AND MOVE ON.

It's not that fucking hard, people. The "back" button is there for a reason, and you can exclude search terms in the DA search engine. You folks act like you're being forced at gunpoint to look at all the creepypasta yaoi, shipping, etc. stuff you hate.

I draw Jeff the Killer a lot, but I encounter horrid pictures of him as a LOVEY-DOVEY KAWAII DESU SPARKLY BISHIE all the time. But you know what? I don't give up on him because of that. I just ignore those drooling fangirl interpretations of him, and continue drawing my version of Jeff (CJ, who's a flesh-eating, ogre-like badass, and in my opinion a vast improvement over the "canon" Jeff.)

There's always people who will interpret things differently than you. This does not "ruin" them. Creepypasta is not "ruined" by people having fun with the concept and drawing cute/funny artwork or making AU versions of the characters any more than LOLcats ruined real cats. Grow a thicker skin, ignore the offending pieces if you hate them so much, and move on.
